Grocery Cart Sunday!

Image
Hey, hey, even though it's a holiday weekend, I'm still trying to stay on task with things around here, so here you are, another Grocery Cart Sunday post! PUBLIX  Where shopping is a pleasure ... well, it used to be anyway. Now, not so much. It seems that their prices are high and the produce is just so-so ... am I getting spoiled from Aldi's you think? I originally intended to go on Friday after work with the thought process that I'd get out of work earlier since we've been slammed and working late every night, but no such luck, I could have left early but I just had to finish up a bunch of stuff just for my own peace of mind over the weekend. So, instead, I woke up bright and early on Saturday morning, with the intention of going to Publix to buy the paper products and use my $5 off $40, then drive to Aldi's to get my fruits and veggies and then BACK to Publix to by the cold stuff and use my other $5 off $40 coupon. Guess what? It was pouring rain...

Grocery Cart Sundays

I don't know why, but I love to read what other bloggers are buying at the grocery store. Yeah. I guess you could say I'm obsessed with food ... but I 'think' I have a healthy relationship with it ;-) So, with that said, I thought, what the heck, I'll try to share my weekly grocery trips ... and if everything is going according to plan, you would even get a picture or two ... but of course, things don't always go as planned ... and again, this was one of those weeks with NO pictures :-( A bonus for me to share weekly is to keep my grocery budget in check (hopefully!) So. I did a stop at Publix Friday after work and spent $88.03 and THEN at the last minute later that evening, the Boy and I hit up Winn Dixie ... and spent $63.49. Oh. Then Sunday we had the now ex-boyfriend over for breakfast and I promised turkey bacon ... didn't have any stashed in the freezer so had to make ANOTHER run to Winn Dixie and hit the motherload of marked down meat ... $89....

Grocery Shopping - December 1st to 7th

Ahhh....we are in the homestretch for the Boat Parade Party and then CHRISTMAS!!! A few stops were made this past week, which does lead me to believe I AM leaning towards an every other week major shop! Monday was Costco ... lots of stuff picked up $312 less $6 was spent. Uggg Tuesday was a quick stop at Fresh Market as they had ground sirloin and applewood smoked bacon, b1g1f. Got 2 lbs of each along with 4 bags of Italian blend cheese. Spent $32.00. After Fresh Market, went one block over to Winn Dixie (shudder) to pick up a few things they had on a 3 day sale ... 4 dozen eggs @ 99 cents each, 2 pkgs of bacon at $1.89 each. They were out of the Arizona Tea that Hubby likes and the sugar they had on sale. Total spent $7 and change. We have plenty of stuff on hand and really, if not for the basic veggies and milk (for Hubby) we could get away with some pretty minimal shopping IF it wasn't December and all the stuff going on. Hubby is making stuffed shells for the party...

Grocery Shopping - November 10th to November 16

I seem to be leaning more towards an every other week major shopping trip. This past week had ONE stop by me ... and that was Walmart ... not my favorite store by any means ... I apparently tossed the receipt, but know I spent about $38 and picked up stuff like sour cream, soda (coke and diet coke), pepperoni slices, sausage patties (breakfast food for Hubby), cheese sticks, and a few other odds and ends. Looking back on that trip, I probably could have done without ANY of it ... but I was there for something else, which I didn't pick up, and decided to swing through the meat department which led me to the rest of the food section. Hubby did make a stop at Winn Dixie, and bless his heart, he used his $5 off $30 coupon and handed another one to the lady in front of him at checkout.  He's starting to really get in to this frugal stuff ;-) I will probably hit the store on Sunday or Monday to get more salad stuff as I'm almost out of lettuce again ... seems to be the ...
