Eggs - a question
I love eggs. Like, I eat them pretty much at least 5 of the 7 days a week. Scrambled, fried, over easy, hard boiled, any which way, I love them. And it 'used' to be a cheap source of protein ... I'd buy 3 dozen EXTRA large from Costco for about $3 or so ... NOW? What the heck happened? All of a sudden, that 3 dozen is now like $6. Huh. And I noticed those that buy the 5 dozen pk paying almost $10 as opposed to the $5. Doubled in price. I actually didn't buy any the last time I was at Costco ... I know that Aldis used to have them at 99 cents to $1.29 a dozen ... not sure what they would be now with the trend I'm seeing (thankful that I still have 3 1/2 dozen left but still, just used 5 this morning between Sonny Boy and I). I've not seen anything on the news about this and now feel the need to go and investigate this myself. Anyone know what's happened? Did the chickens/hens go on strike or something??
