DIY Spot Remover

Image
This stuff kicks butt for removing ALL KINDS OF STAINS!   And being that I'm a Dawn dish soap kind of girl, it's perfect! I hate buying stain remover ... that little bottle of Shout that you could never get the last bit out of (the little straw thing was about 1/4 inch too short in the bottle costs me around $3 to $4 back in the day. I just hated using that stuff, not to mention, honestly, I don't think that stuff worked all that well if you didn't spot it immediately ... So today's little tip will make you very excited if you think like me ... If you have white t-shirts or them damn dress shirts that hubby used to wear to work every day that are starting to get that dingy armpit ring (and collars too!) go grab them R I G H T now!!! I promise you, it works and I am amazed every time I use it!  Original idea came from  One Good Thing By Jillee  (gosh I HOPE you've visited her site before, she's a wealth of information!) Here's how I did it: ...

Pampering the Hands

Image
My hands have NOT been bothering me as much lately and I would like to think that perhaps it has something to do with the Whole30 way I've been eating. Then again, I may have just jinxed myself, right? Don't get me wrong, they still hurt. But it would seem that some of the swelling has gone down, and I've not taken ANY Aleve in 3 weeks (its a miracle, I tell you!) but have popped one of Hubby's anti-inflammatory pills a few times. Which, by the way, is perfectly fine for me to take NOW that I'm not consuming alcohol.  So I a few days ago, I went back and did something that I've not done in quite a while. Yes, I DID do it consistently for oh, about, 2 months. Then life stepped in and got busy and I got distracted and just set aside that nightly routine. Hand Scrubbing. Which really, should be Hand Soothing. Or, how about, just plain ole Pampering the Hands? All you need is:  Baking soda and Coconut Oil. Uh huh. Again. My two favorite things. I d...

Frugal Tip - At Home Microdermabrasion

Image
One of my New Year's proclamations was to spend a little more time on ME.  But I'm still trying to be frugal so a full day at the spa to get me some pampering done isn't going to be happening (although, Hubby has promised a day for me soon) ... Anyways. Here's something that I've been doing for a little while now, and seriously, it does wonders for your skin ... and even better is that you most likely just need to go in your kitchen pantry and pull out the big box/bag of ... Yup, baking soda! Originally, I said to mix 3 tbs of baking soda to 1 tbs of water.  To mix well in a small dish to make a paste and apply to face in small circular, rubbing motions. Yeah, that worked, real well. But then, I started getting lazy. Or maybe it's because I was running late one morning. I just poured a bit in the palm of my hand, jumped in the shower, dribble a bit of water in the other hand, rubbed together and then rubbed both hands on my DRY face AND then started ...

Frugal Tip - Pots and Pans

Image
Ready for a pretty nifty, frugal tip this fine Saturday? Well then, read on! I've been tossing pots and pans as I go along since nothing irritates me more than a rocking pot or a skillet that sticks like crazy. Not to mention, I am officially TEFLON FREE in the house, at long last. Which of course, does cause 'some' issues ... pans that get pretty gunked up during the cooking process. And you know, I'm the one that does kitchen sink duty, every morning, and every night. A light scrubby with a sponge didn't show much improvement on this pan one night, so I dug out my favorite standby ... Baking soda. Yes, it cleans. It cleans REAL GOOD. Get the pan wet and drain excess water out. Sprinkle a little baking soda in the pan. You don't have to load it up, I used a very minimal amount. Let it sit, oh 30 seconds. I am not known for my patience when doing dishes. Take a scrubby pad, or in my case, a sponge with the one abrasive side and g...
