Grocery Shops in Review

I tried to stay away from the grocery stores all week long and was somewhat successful.

Only thing ... well, three things ... friends over Wednesday night for dinner, Princess and her Hubby came in on Thursday night, and we hosted a small get together of about 12 people on Friday night.

Not a problem!

Wednesday night we had burgers and hot dogs (from the freezer!) ... glad I had bought the buns last week!  I also made a bag of Handsome Fries (Trader Joes) and then serve up some diced tomatoes, onions and shredded cheese to go along with everything.

Thursday night was a crockpot dinner ... General Tso Chicken (recipe coming soon!) with chicken from freezer and a batch of Un-Rolled Egg Rolls (slaw in fridge) and 2 bags of Trader Joe's Veggie Fried Rice (freezer).  Hubby did stop at the store to get 2 small bags of stir fry veggies.

Friday night I opted to just do a Mexican/taco fiesta. Ground beef from freezer, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and onions from fridge. I had the boy bring me a Trio Tray from work (chips, salsa, guac and queso). Didn't happen as it was raining LOTS and his parking lot floods ...

Ok, on to the grocery shops! *I have a new camera that I'm still working figuring out the lighting stuff and you know me, I hate learning that stuff!*

Whole Foods - August 24, 2017
Total Spent - $75.71

Original plan was to pick up a few bottles of Coconut Aminos Garlic Sauce (since I was using the rest of what I had for dinner), some bananas, and a few other things. Yes, I overbought.

jar of Queso $4.99 (really)
Bananas (lots) $2.61
2 cans of coconut milk $1.99 each
Garlic sauce x 2 $7.99 each (whew that's more than I remember paying in the past!)
Cotton candy grapes (!) $7.12 ($3.49 per pound ... never would have bought if the pregnant Princess wasn't coming!)
Roma tomatoes $2.57
Chips $2.50
different chips $3.00
2 large bottles of coconut water $8.49 each less $2 off one (only 1 coupon found!)
and 2 bottles of my favorite hand sanitizer $8.99 each

Yeah, that was a lot of money for what I got.

Publix - August 25, 2017
Total Spent - $135.82

What was just a quick stop for coronas and taco shells turned in to so much more. Just goes to show you that for the most part, a stop for a few things hardly ever works which is why I should stay out 100% unless completely necessary!

2 large candles $8.99 each (!)
2 pk Febreeze Air spray $4.99 (I spray this on my bed every morning after we make it ... keeps the comforter smelling fresh)
2 containers gum $3.49 each
3 large bottles coconut water $9.99 each less $2 each
mini taco shell boats $2.89
regular shell boats $2.89 (I thought they were both standard size)
Tortilla shells $2.71
Large burrito shells $3.19
2 packets taco seasoning $.99 each
2 cans regular refried beans $1.65 each ... which I didn't need as I had refried black beans which are way better
2 jars Arriba Salsa 2 for $5.19 less $.55 each (these were the bomb!)
Sour cream $1.34
2 more jars of Queso $3.00 each
Head of iceberg lettuce $2.19
2 bags of frozen stir fry veggies $2.79 for both (B1G1F)
2 bags of frozen southwestern style rice $2.89 for both (B1G1F)
12 pk corona light $13.99 (cuz it's Friday, it's Mexican fiesta night...)
2 bags of shredded 4 cheese Mexican blend $6 for both (!?)
box of cat litter $8.99
and a package of ground beef $13.48 (!!)

Seriously looking to do a No Spend Month or maybe just a $100 budget for September ... we are traveling at the end of the month so what better time than now?

Looking forward to sharing with some of these GREAT Parties ... go check them out!
