Appetizers ... Snausages

Obviously, I was getting geared up for the Boat Parade as I think this will be my FOURTH Appetizer recipe in the past few weeks :-) ... what can I say, I love appetizers! And since there were only a couple left the following day, I'm going to have to make these again for New Years Eve!

Ok. The story behind Snausages? The name, that is ... does anyone remember the dog snack commercial? Sort of like the "Bacon!" commercial ... you know it?  Well, we had France, the worlds bestest Dalmatian ever, and whenever we would make this dish, we'd be like, Snausage, France? It just sort of stuck with us and it's definitely an inside family joke ... but it is what it is ...

So here, I present to you: Snausages ...

2 pkg of them lil smokies. There are several different varieties now, and I try and stick with the original, smoked sausage flavor by Hillshire Farms
1 bottle/jar of your favorite bbq sauce
1 tbs of fresh minced garlic
3 tbs of dried onion flakes

Cut all the smokies in half. This will spread the amount of snausages AND makes them more manageable to just pop in your mouth with a toothpick.

Dump these into the crock pot. Dump about 3/4 of the bottle of bbq sause on top, and add the the garlic and onion flakes.

I don't really stir them much, just a little.

Put the lid on top, set the crock pot to low and leave for 3 to 4 hours.

They will be ready to eat within 3 hours, probably, once you try one and see if the softness/firmness is where you like it to be, it's ready.

Serve with toothpicks, small plates and napkins ... enjoy!

*Ok, so really, I need to make this with 3 packages the next time as these go FAST ... if it's just you and the family or a few buddies, go for one package and just reduce everything by half ... but I love these the next day nuked in the microwave for a few seconds to get warm ... yummm*
