Classic Margaritas

Image
Psst ... today's the DAY!!! It's Cinco De Mayo (and yeah, I know, history states, clearly, that this is NOT a day to really celebrate but ... still! It's also my birthday!) I love margaritas. Yes, I know, I also love the  Peach Vodka  things ... but a classic margarita is really hard to beat!  And when one of my girlfriends showed up with a bottle of Patron, I knew we had to make these. Old picutre and do not have any of these bottles, except the skull dude I mean, it's not like I was WAITING for a bottle of Patron to show up on the doorstep ... I've got a pretty good selection of tequila already ... Let's make one thing clear, right off the top. Use good quality tequila! Skip right on past the bottle of Jose ... and take my advice and skip past the ones that aren't clear ... the darker the tequila, the more "woodier" it will taste and just not meant for a margarita ... I have eight bottles of tequila right now ... and only a few limes...

Mango Margaritas!

It's time for ANOTHER REPOST! Margaritas. Can we talk about Margaritas, just for one second? They are soooooo universal ... you name it, you can make a margarita out of it!  I've got the  Classic , the  Frozen Strawberry , the  Fresh Fruit , the  Kickin Grapefruit , the  Blood Orange  and of course, THE MANGO MARGARITA ... Here's the post from a few years ago ... I so wanted to get this post up BEFORE Cinco de Mayo but with the phone hitting the wall, seriously, I couldn't figure out a way to bypass the damn Google  2 step verification process (how on earth did I ever agree to THAT!!!???) to log in to the main computer and upload the pics ... Oh well. I'm still sharing because it's just worth it. The original recipe comes from  The Pioneer Woman  and I happened to catch her on Food TV last weekend. Raise your hand IF you like to watch that show? Me? Not so much, no offense Ree. It's just not the same as reading the webs...

Frozen Strawberry Margaritas

It's almost May! Which means a few things special in MY LIFE: My birthday! Not so exciting as it's the 5 3 one! Cinco De Mayo - same day as my birthday! Fort Lauderdale Air Show - same weekend as my birthday! Kentucky Derby! Yup, same weekend as the above 3 things! Uhm ... I am going to need a long vacation after this first weekend in May! We are having a 'few' people over for all  the festivities and you probably already know that I LOVE margaritas ... uh huh ... but not the heartburn at 2am after a few of the ones using the pre-made margarita mix ... Hubby already has the system worked out where he just pulls out the bottle of Prilosec and sets it next to my glass. Pretty pathetic, don't you think? ;-) I had shared this recipe a while ago and decided to make these again since I am having a few friends over ... I mean, heck, I have frozen strawberries, a ton of them,  because I always FREEZE them once they sit for a few days to keep them from going to...

Holiday Cranberry Margaritas

Image
It's the most wonderful time of the year .... The perfect time of the year to make special adult beverages! We've been trying to reduce our expenses on food and booze as well as trying to clear out all the excess stuff we have sitting around.  We used to have a TON of booze on the bar and have been whittling away at it, and some things have just gotten tossed as we aren't sure WHAT the purpose was!  But tequila is abundant around here. Uhm, I used to have 6+ bottles and now, I'm down to 2 small bottles of Patron, 1 bottle of the skullhead stuff (very very special, don't touch that!) and a bottle tucked in the back of the cabinet. Ahem, friends, I am now open to gifts of tequila again! 🍸 *This bottle is long gone and I will admit it, this was my least favorite tequila. Not that I'm a Tequila Connoisseur or anything like that So, it's holiday time and well, I DO have those 3 bottles of tequila (no, don't count the skullhead dude, he...

Holiday Cranberry Margaritas

Image
First up, let me just say, this recipe is NOT mine ... nope. Not at all ... it belongs to Gimme Some Oven and if you've never been there, go check it out! I'm trying to reduce the spending on food and stuff and pretty much have walked away from the booze and beer aisles lately ... I mean, shoot, we've got quite a bit of hard liquor on hand and as far as beer goes, I'm trying really hard to avoid that as it's the number one thing I consume that has gluten ... so cutting way back on that stuff ... hard as it may be .... But tequila is abundant around here. Uhm, I have 6 bottles that I see off the top ... I'm sure there is one or two tucked away in the back of the cabinet. I've specifically requested NO MORE tequila til I drink some of these ... and then along came Whole30 ... ahhh.... But ... it's holiday time and well, I DO have those 6 bottles of tequila .. and a bottle or two of cranberry juice is usually floating around. Most of the ...

Kickin Grapefruit Margaritas

I seem to have re-discovered my love of Margaritas it seems with all these recipes lately! Ahhh ... it's summertime, I'm trying to be more mindful of just what I eat (ahem, GRAINS, I'm looking at YOU) and well, Tequila IS one of the cleanest alcohols to drink if you must ;-) So Ritas are on my mind ... Now, this one was more of a curious tasting than a "yummm, I must try this immediately" ... which is ok ... because, once again, I had everything on hand ... and you do know that I like to try and Use What We Have around here ;-) ... and man, were they ever refreshing and interesting. Glad I gave them a shot! The key with this round of margaritas is to try and remember ahead of time that you want to make these because you want them to hang out in the fridge for a little while to do a little meet and greet because the jalapenos are going to be kicked out before the real party starts. Ready to make yourself FOUR lovely, refreshing ‘Ritas? 1 cup ru...
