2014 - $5 Savings Plan
This year, I am going to try something different as to saving cash at home ... Usually, I save the majority of my singles and just toss them in this basket in the kitchen ... and that is what I give the kids to run to the store to pick up something (buns?) or when we order pizza ... so normally, there is not more than say, $30 in the basket. But its ok, at least this way, I always have cash just "lying around the house" ;-) BUT ... for a REAL savings plan .... I am going to start saving ALL my five dollar bills, you know, the ones with Honest Abe on the front? Yeah, that one! Source Figure this: if I was to get a single $5 bill a week, after a year, there would be $1,300.00 $260.00 (um, hello, I really need to do math more often by hand ... $1300 would require 260 $5 bills in the year ... which would be 5 $5 bills a week ... basically $25 a week, $100 a month ... or so.
