Late Summertime Fun

Sonny boy goes back to school in, oh, 10 days? Princess starts her next semester in oh, 2 weeks? And Hubby? Well, he decided to F.I.N.A.L.L.Y. put the Seadoo in the water and let it sit on the lift at the dock. Oh gee. We are all thrilled to be able to have 5 full days left to play (best to play in the intracostal waterways Monday through Thursday when boat traffic is minimal). Sonny Boy, the G/F and Hubby put the Doo in the water last night and Sonny Boy and G/F brought it back home. They actually beat Hubby home which means they were flying. Sonny Boy said oh, about 59 mph peaked. Uhhh...Dude. G/F never been on anything like this before soooooooo..... They asked if they could go play some more and of course we said absolutely, off with you! Good to see them having some fun besides sitting around watching tv, playing games and talking/texting on the phones. Well, they do float in the pool, go to the beach, cook, eat, clean. Ok never mind. Good to see them doing something NEW!

Boating on Saturday

Image
We took the boat out all day long on Saturday. Was glad that sonny boy opted to come along, even though his sis (whom he invited) couldn't come and none of his friends wanted to motivate that early ... we went south to haulover inlet which is an absolutely gorgeously clear water area ... and a nice ride too to be sure the boat is running well. How do I know it's running well? Look at this: Says we were going 32 knots and using 27.9 gallons of fuel per hour. Anyone out there want to do the math for me? Haulover inlet is about 20 miles south of the dock. Ah heck. Forget it, don't do the math, it just takes all the fun out of the day. Then, we saw this going over the las olas bridge when we were on our way out in the morning, but I've never seen it in the water: This is a huge tourist attraction (I guess) and actually kin dof cute, when you think about it. We beeped the horn at them & everyone started quacking. Kind of cute in a real corny way...

Saturday boating

We went on the boat Saturday. Should have been a great day. It was a great day. But we stayed up a little too late on Friday. Dh (in my opinion) had a little too much to drink so he wasn't quite rarin to go in the morning. Our friends were to be at our house at 10. Of course, it's the same friends who came by the night before. I got up at 6:30. Cleaned up a bit (of course!) and then headed to walmart NM to pick up beer, water, gatorade/propel & ice. $80 later (of course!) I get home at 9am. Dh was on the computer messing around. Said he was turning off boat monitoring system. Ok. Next thing I know, he's messing around with a light on the boat. Does this really need to be done NOW when we have friends coming in 40 minutes?? Grrrr. So that kind of set my mood. I got out of it though. We went to Boca Lake (if you want to see, click here: http://lakebocacam.com/ ). Grilled the big hot dogs. Had another boat & friends show up. They brough JD. Not a good thing. Hone...

Boca Lake or Lake Boca

This is where we generally end up every other Saturday when we go boating. It's about an hours drive or so by boat (mostly in the intracoastal and then 15 minutes in the ocean). Neat place to go, lots of hard going partying too on some of the other boats. Actually saw some beer bongs going on which I haven't seen since 82' So, if you happen to click on it during a Saturday - look for us ... "All Jacked Up" :) http://www.lakebocacam.com

5th of May

Is a big day in Mexico and around here also (any reason to have a party!) ... It's also my birthday! :) Yup, hit 44. Wow. Will probably go down as the worse birthday in my life. I say it tongue in cheek. No air & sea show this year. Car still has not been fixed from dd's accident. Put boat in water on Thursday, broke down, had to be towed back to ramp, put back on trailer & brought home to work on for next 2 days. Saturday put back in water. Ran fine til slowed down. One of the motors was knocking. Turned it off and limped home on the other motor. DH & friends pulled all the sparkplugs. Couldn't get 'compression' on one (??). Another friend came over with one of them cool cameras on a springy thing to look at (he owns marina) ... motor is blown or something to that effect :( Thank god we have the extended service policy. But not sure if it's going to be 100% ok or not as we don't know if the breakdown on Thursday was the leading up to it? ...
