Non Toxic Mosquito Spray

Let's face it, living in Paradise does have a few drawbacks with the #1 complaint being ... BUGS. Yeah, bugs.  Mostly mosquitoes that can just ruin an evening of relaxation on the patio ... those pesky little guys can really do a number on you quickly!  Heaven forbid if you are one of those who are very sensitive to the bites (the Boy), you will have welts in no time. So Hubby always decides to spray AFTER everyone starts swatting the air and scratching. We have to gather up our drinks and appetizers, go indoors and wait for 20 minutes or so for the toxic fog to flat away ... only to be swatting and scratching AGAIN in 30 minutes. After seeing THIS tip a few too many times, I figured, what the heck, $5 at Walmart is worth it to try, right? Guess what?  It seems to work!!!  I need to do a few more nights to say for certain but I say it's WAY better than that can of toxic stuff ... and cheaper to boot! You must use the ORIGINAL fl...

Oil and Lemon Vinaigrette

I've really gotten in to making my own salad dressings as you've probably noticed ... and I have a few all time, favorites that are simple and can be mixed up in a jiffy.... But some days, I wants something light, refreshing, and just, well, just that. Enter in to the wonderful world of LEMONS ... Of course, this could have something to do with that lemons from Costco that is starting to take a turn and I'm trying to avoid having to toss them so I've been using them up for EVERYTHING! .... and this here recipe takes TWO lemons so that makes me pretty happy! Here's what you need to add a little ray of sunshine to your salads ... juice from 2 lemons (about 1/4 cup or so ... Costco lemons are HUGE and I got about 1/3 of a cup of juice from 2) 1/2 cup of olive oil salt and pepper to taste Ready? Dump the juice in to your glass canning jar or any other glass container with a lid.  Add the olive oil, whisk that baby up. Add salt and pepper to taste...
